On 2 June 2010, Chairman of the Unior d.d. Board of Directors Gorazd Korošec and Chairman of the SID Bank Board of Directors Sibil Svilan signed an agreement with which SID Bank granted to Unior a long-term 10-year loan to finance three development projects with a total value of EUR 10.4 million.
Unior d.d. responded to the SID Bank tender for financing development projects in the automotive industry from the European Investment Bank (EIB) resources and other resources with an application to acquire financing for three development projects. All three projects are of a developmental nature and directly connected to the research and development of production technologies and products.
The first project involves the research and development of highly productive and environmentally sound mechanical treatment technologies for the production of steering forks, generation 5xx. Unior will focus its research and development actions on modern and precise transformation technologies, modern technologies for mechanical treatment and highly productive and ecologically sound equipment for the mechanical treatment of a new generation of steering fork.
The second project involves the research and development of mechanical treatment technologies with 12 processes for the production of transmission main shafts. The project is based on modular construction of machinery, in which Unior wants to connect different cutting techniques and research and develop environmentally sound technologies for the mechanical treatment of transmission main shafts.
The third project involves the research and development of the technology for high temperature sintering of hot pressed high alloy steel (HTSHP high alloy steel). With this project, Unior wants to research and develop a new generation of sintering technology to contribute to improved mechanical properties of products manufactured using modern pressing and sintering technologies, to research certain products based on the already developed HTSHP high alloy steel technology and to research technology for own production of N2/H2 gasses, which play a key role in the cost-effectiveness of HTSHP high alloy steel technology.
Unior is a partner and developmental supplier of the European automotive industry, operating in accordance with the certified quality system of the international ISO 9001 standard.
